Train your staff in AML/CTF, with a certificate for each

Send AML/CTF training to your staff, have each person read your firm's own program and pass a quiz, and keep a certificate and a register you can show AUSTRAC.

Start, and send it to your staff

A firm new to Diract signs up at diract.io/aml-training: your name, your firm, your email and a password, then Create account and start. You land on AML/CTF training, with the training already sent to you at the Compliance officer or senior manager level.

Already on Diract? Open Tools, then AML/CTF training. In Diract Searches, it is Staff AML training under Identity in the side bar.

Click Send to everyone. Everybody in the company who has not been sent it yet gets it at the Client facing level, due in 30 days, and a notification.

Admins, and anybody given Manage AML/CTF training in Admin, Permissions, run the training. Everybody else sees only their own.

Make the program your own

Until you change it, everybody reads Our standard AML/CTF policies: who to go to, the checks before acting for a client, what to do when something seems wrong, never tipping anybody off, cash, and records. It names your firm and your compliance officer.

Click What the training involves, or the policies' name, to see every level, every module and its topics, the policies in full, and how the quiz and certificate work.

Click Use your own program to edit those policies or paste your own program over them, set Refresher training to every 6 or 12 months, type your AML/CTF compliance officer, and click Save.

Work through AUSTRAC's program documents

Program documents lists every document in AUSTRAC's legal profession program starter kit, in AUSTRAC's own groups: the customise guide, the risk assessments, the policy and process documents, the personnel forms, the client forms for conveyancing and for other services, escalations, ongoing monitoring, and the forms to maintain and review your program.

Click a group to open it, and a document's name to download AUSTRAC's current Word file. Where Diract already does a form's job, the row says how, under In Diract.

Click Record beside a document, choose In place and the date, or Not needed and say why, then click Save. Each group shows how many of its documents are recorded.

Use the search, Not recorded, In place and Not needed to find what is left.

Take the training

Each person opens Tools, then AML/CTF training, and clicks Start training (or Carry on).

They read each module and click I have read this module, then read the firm's program and click I have read and will follow this program.

Then the quiz. The pass mark is 80%. Passing issues a certificate straight away; below the pass mark, they click Start again.

Keep the register up to date

The Training register lists everybody you sent training to, with their level, status and due date. Use Needs action to see who is Overdue, Expired, Due soon or Needs refresher.

Click a person to change their level or due date, open or Revoke their certificate, or Take off the register when they leave. Nothing they completed is deleted.

Click Download register for a spreadsheet of everybody, with dates, scores, certificate codes and versions.

Prove someone was trained

Each certificate names the person, your firm, their level, their score, your program, and the dates it was completed and is valid until.

Its second page, What this training covered, lists every module with the topics it taught, the sections of the program they read, and the quiz: how many questions and how many they got right. It is written when the certificate is issued, so it still says what they were taught after the course or your program changes.

Anybody can check one at the address printed on it, or by sending them the link from Copy check link. The page shows whether it is current, expired or revoked.
