Add an entry
Fill in the form at the top of the tab: Date, Staff, Type, Rate, Duration (Hours), Billable and Description.
On the Time Entry dashboard the form also has Matter. Click it and type part of the matter's number or name to find it.
Click Rewrite with AI under the description to correct it and write it as a bill line. Click Undo to put back what you typed.
Click Add. The form clears for the next entry, and the entry appears in the report below.
To time the work as you do it, click Clock in instead. The clock starts on what the form holds, and its time shows in the toolbar at the top of the screen.
Click the clock in the toolbar to change the matter, the person, the task or the description while it runs. Click Clock out to record the time, rounded up to the next tenth of an hour. The clock keeps running through a reload, a closed tab and another computer until you clock out or discard it.
The clock is the same one on the web, the phone app and Diract Mail: start it on one and stop it on another. If a screen cannot reach us to check the clock, it says The clock is not syncing and the clock's dot turns amber. Click Retry, or wait: it checks again every 30 seconds and whenever you come back to it.
On the phone app, Clock in sits under Add on the Time Entry board, under the matter of a filed email and beside Attach files when writing one. While a clock runs, the timer in the header opens it. On an iPad the clock sits at the top right. Diract Mail on the desktop shows it in the top bar and clocks in from the timer in the compose footer.

Move or delete several entries at once
Tick the box beside each entry that belongs to another matter. Click Select all unbilled in the bar at the foot of the report to tick every unbilled entry showing.
Click Move to another matter.
Under Move to, type part of the matter's number or name and pick it. Click Add new matter if it does not exist yet.
Click the button that counts them, such as Move 3 entries. The entries leave this matter's report and appear on the other one.
To delete the ticked entries instead, click Delete in the same bar and confirm. If you are not an admin, the button reads Request delete and asks an admin to delete them.
Create an invoice
Click Create invoice at the top right of the tab.
Invoice Number at the top shows the number this invoice will get. An admin clicks Change numbering to set the prefix, the digits or the next number, then Save numbering. It applies to every new invoice, and a number already used is never given out again.

Tick the entries to include.
Click Create Draft to keep editing it, or Create and Finalise to send it.
