Connect ChatGPT, Gemini and other AI apps to Diract
Connect ChatGPT, Gemini CLI, Cursor, VS Code or any app that takes an MCP server to your records in Diract, so it can find and list records, read and search their documents, add tasks and events, order identity checks, save what it writes and draft emails for you to send, or with full control do anything an admin can.
Each person connects their own app, under their own plan with whoever makes it. Diract charges nothing for it. A connection acts as you: the app sees and changes only what you can in Diract. An everyday connection never removes a record or a file, or sends an email or a text.
All of them are under AI on the top bar: ChatGPT, Gemini or Other apps. Claude has its own steps under Claude. In Diract Searches, the same connections are under AI apps in the side bar.

Choose what a connection can do
An admin chooses under What it can do before clicking Make a connection. Everyday work finds, reads and adds to records, and orders identity checks. Full control can do anything an admin can: build tables, fields and dashboards, change settings, permissions and invoice templates, edit and publish the website, send emails and texts, and remove and restore records.
Anybody who is not an admin makes an everyday connection, with no choice shown.
A full control connection shows Full control beside its name under Your connections.
Order identity checks from your AI app
Ask the app in your own words, for example "send Jane Smith a VOI at jane@example.com for the Smith matter". It tells you the price and waits for your yes before it orders.
When the client signs for a company or a trust, give its name and its ACN or ABN. The order is refused if the number fails its check digits or the business register has no business with it. A name the register has differently is ordered anyway and shown to whoever reviews the check, under Business register.
On a monthly account the client is emailed their link at once, and the check goes on that month's invoice once the client has sent their documents or form, whether or not it has been reviewed yet. Paying by card, the app gives you a link to the order, where Pay now uses your saved card, and the client is emailed once it is paid.
Ask "where are my identity checks up to?" to see who each is waiting on, and "what happened with Jane Smith's check?" for its steps and the decision once it is reviewed.
Change the website from your AI app
With a full control connection, ask for example "rebuild our Services page to look like https://example.com". The app reads that site and changes the page's draft. Nothing is live until you ask it to publish the page.
Make a connection
Click AI on the top bar, then the app you use. Type a name under Name this connection, such as "ChatGPT at work", and click Make a connection.
Diract shows what to copy into the app, once. Copy it before you click Done, I have copied it.
Connect ChatGPT
In ChatGPT on the web, open Plugins, click +, then Add custom MCP server. If ChatGPT does not offer it, turn on Developer mode in ChatGPT's settings first. On a Business or Enterprise workspace, an admin turns it on.
Name it Diract and paste the Server address with your key Diract shows into MCP server URL. Under Authentication choose No authentication, accept ChatGPT's warning and create it.
Connect Gemini CLI
Copy the Command Diract shows and run it in a terminal. Or copy the Settings into the mcpServers part of ~/.gemini/settings.json.
Type /mcp in Gemini CLI to check Diract is connected.
Connect another app
In the app's MCP settings, add a remote server over HTTP. Give it the Server address, and a header named Authorization with the Header value Diract shows. Many apps, Cursor among them, take the Settings Diract shows as a settings file.
If the app takes an address and no header, give it the Server address with your key instead, with no authentication.
